Black Ink is the Swartz brothers incorporated: a partnership between Philly-based artists Jon and David Swartz. The name “Black Ink” pays homage to the family name, Swartz, which when translated in German, means “black.” The Swartz brothers attended the school of Creative and Performing Arts in Philadelphia, and went on to graduate from Tyler School of Art with degrees in Graphic Design.
